The claims management company Generali Deutschland Schadenmanagement (GDSM) is responsible for handling major and special claims, as well as managing and controlling the claims segment of Generali Deutschland Holding AG, which includes AachenMünchener, CosmosDirekt and Generali Versicherungen.
The start of operations of GDSM in August 2007 created one of the largest claims management companies in the German insurance market. After the successful implementation of the new business model at the turn of the year 2007, the focus is now on the further development of claims management for the entire Group. These activities concentrate on establishing the newly created specialised departments, which in this consistent organisation are quite unique in the German insurance market. These departments cover the areas of fraud prevention, management of bodily-injury claims, as well as litigation/recourse. Over and above this, a separate area of cooperation management has been set up. The company has staff in Cologne, Aachen, Munich and Hamburg . The specialized departments are consolidated at a maximum of two locations and controlling is concentrated in Cologne . The target of GDSM is to strengthen the competitiveness of Generali Deutschland in the field of claims management on a long-term basis and increase the service quality for the customers of the Group.
