Generali Pensionskasse was founded by Generali Deutschland in 2002. It is a specialized life insurance company providing pension insurance under occupational pension schemes. Like all life insurers, the company is subject to the regulation of the German financial services regulator.
Generali Pensionskasse does not have staff of its own. The business is operated by staff of the Generali Group on an outsourcing basis.
At the end of 2009, the portfolio of Generali Pensionskasse in terms of sums insured was about EUR 4.3 bn. which is equivalent to a market share of 6.4 %.
For 2010 up to EUR 2,640 (4 % of the social security contribution threshold) can be paid into the pension fund tax-free and without any social security contributions. Depending on the individual circumstances, a further amount of EUR 1,800 may be contributed tax-free.
The range of products of Generali Pensionskasse includes deferred pension policies with or without covers for surviving dependants and optional covers for occupational disability.
